Position Summary:
The Barese Telephone Interpreter interprets conversations between Barese and English speakers and takes care of on-demand calls. The interpreter eliminates barriers to communication in a variety of LanguageLine Solutions' industries: Healthcare, the government, insurance, financial services, utilities, travel and hospitality, general business, the courts, and 911 are all examples of these industries.
The interpreter is able to process information quickly, in a clear way, and understands subtle cultural differences. The mediator is proficient and obliging consistently and utilizes fitting phrasing and figures out normal industry systems and practices. Subjects can be technical or non-technical, simple or complex, during the interpreting sessions.
Although written translation is not required for this position, qualified translators and other linguists are encouraged to apply. Verbally, the interpreters communicate.
**This is a job that is far away. The interpreter has a home office where they work. It is absolutely necessary to provide a quiet and secure setting.**
Job Functions
- Respond promptly to interpreting sessions and provide friendly and professional interpretation.
- Implement established interpretation protocol's conventions to convey the correct concepts and meanings, avoiding omissions or additions.
- Use proper pronunciation, enunciation, and polite expressions to communicate clearly in both languages.
- Throughout the interpreting sessions, maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Try to avoid panicking during deciphering meetings if one of the essential speakers is unintelligible or disturbed, particularly in crisis circumstances like emergency calls.
- During working hours, be available and on time.
- Adhere to client directions, in consistence with convention to guarantee client assumptions are met with the Restricted English-speaking Individual (LEP), staying away from association with the LEP without client's consent.
- Know the terms and procedures used in a variety of fields, including but not limited to the legal, insurance, financial, and medical fields.
- Be committed to working in a diverse environment and being culturally sensitive.
